Through the Valley documentary

Meet Randy, a suburban father troubled by his American teen’s behavioral problems and searching for a solution. Years earlier at a Christian concert, his family committed to sponsor Umuhoza, a Rwandan girl whose father was imprisoned during the Rwandan genocide that devastated the nation. Little did they know that this sponsorship would set in motion a chain of events that would change their lives forever.

Across the world, another father named William faces great uncertainty and tough decisions due to the same Rwandan genocide that claimed over 800,000 lives.

These fathers all face great challenges and difficult decisions. Through their struggles to provide for and protect their families, their lives intersect, first in America and eventually in Rwanda.

The families of Randy and William find themselves embarking on an unlikely trip to Rwanda to meet Umuhoza and her family. Their journey together reveals the divine tapestry of God’s love and guidance, where they learn first hand the power of forgiveness and reconciliation, and the healing that comes from helping others.
